There is a two pet maximum. Your dog must be leashed or held in your arms when you’re in common areas of the resort. Dogs are not allowed in the bar, fitness center, spa, pool area or The Ritz-Carlton Club level lounge. This exclusion does not apply to guide or service animals.
Special guest pooches will receive a hand-painted bowl, plush doggie bed, chew toy, doggie menu, Vista View dog walking trail map, dog waste bags and a Club Yappy loyalty card.
“At our resort, our discriminating guests always include four-legged friends,” Public Relations Coordinator Kristin Straw says. “When you bring Fido along on your trip to our resort, you’ll be hearing ‘tails’ of devotion from your pooch for a long time to come.”
The hotel also hosts a monthly cocktail party called, Yappy Hour, to help raise money for Pet Project Foundation, a non-profit, charitable organization formed in early 2004 with the merger of two animal welfare groups – Friends of San Clemente Animals and Animal Rescue Foundation of Dana Point.
Canine treats are always complimentary at Yappy Hour and their pet parents can indulge in the no-host cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Your pooch will enjoy lapping up dog-friendly libations flavored with bacon, chicken, cheese, beef and liver while you can enjoy wines by the glass from Mutt Lynch Winery, including Unleashed Chardonnay, Merlot Over and Play Dead and Chateau D’Og.
